August "Ted" Pace, Past Commander, being presented with notice by District Commander Ed Nock that he will receive a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor award at 3:30 p.m. June 3 the Hall of Valor at Soldiers and Sailors Hall. He is receiving the award as a sign of
France’s gratitude for his personal contribution to the liberation of the country during World War II.
Pace is also a member of the Three Rivers Chapter of the Merchant Marines.
Together, members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary,
The Sons of The American Legion, and The Legion Riders make up
what is known as our American Legion Family.
All four organizations place high importance on preserving our American traditions and values, improving the quality of life for our nation's children, caring for veterans and their families
and perhaps most importantly, teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship.
